The East 1488 CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) is a Texas 501(c)3 non-profit corporation organized to assist residents in the East 1488 corridor before, during and following emergencies or disasters when professional responders are not immediately available. Members include both CERT-trained and non-CERT trained residents that live within and outside of the East 1488 corridor.  Group members are communities within the East 1488 corridor. 

The East 1488 CERT is governed by a Board of Directors.  Board Members are representatives selected by each Group Member (community) at the Annual Meeting each November.  Officers are elected by the Board of Directors following the Annual Meeting.

The Board meets monthly on the second Tuesday of each month.  The Annual Meeting is held in November.

Mission Statement 

The East 1488 CERT assists residents before, during and following emergencies or disasters when professional responders are not immediately available; coordinates with Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management and facilitates CERT training for residents; provides training, information and educational opportunities for East 1488 CERT members to refresh their CERT skills and enhance their skills through continuing education; assists East 1488 residents in becoming more prepared for emergencies by providing information, educational opportunities and sponsoring community-wide emergency preparedness events; advises residents of the benefits of CERT training and encourages them to become CERT trained; and supports East 1488 CERT members as they assist emergency response agencies during and following emergencies and disasters.

Members

East 1488 CERT is an umbrella organization that coordinates efforts of residents and communities in the areas North an South of the East FM1488 corridor.  Members include both CERT-trained and non-CERT trained residents that live within and outside of the East 1488 corridor.  Group members are communities within and outside of the East 1488 corridor.
